Teen Beginner Sewing Class | Ages 11–17

Give your teenager the chance to discover sewing at Silvana Boutique in Southgate. This beginner-friendly course is suitable for ages 11–17, including complete beginners.

Choose your session

Monday session: Mondays, 5:00pm–7:00pm, starting 26 October 2026. Five sessions on 26 October, 2 November, 9 November, 23 November and 30 November 2026.

Tuesday session: Tuesdays, 5:00pm–7:00pm. The current listed session dates are 13, 20 and 27 October, 3 and 10 November 2026.

Course fee: £200 for the full five-session course.

What they’ll learn

• How to use a sewing machine safely
• Essential sewing techniques and finishing
• An introduction to the overlocker
• Basic garment construction
• How to make a tote bag and a T-shirt or top

What’s included

• Two hours of tuition per session
• Use of sewing machines and an introduction to the overlocker
• Class project materials (final garment fabric may be purchased separately)
