Ready to learn to sew or build confidence with your sewing machine? Join Silvana's Sewing Studio in Southgate for practical, small-group sewing tuition in a creative studio environment.
Adult Beginner Sewing Course — 10 Sessions
Every Wednesday, 6:00 pm–8:30 pm
Course dates:
- November 2026: 4, 11, 18 and 25 November
- December 2026: 2, 9 and 16 December
- January 2027: 6, 13 and 20 January
10 sessions · 2.5 hours per session · 25 hours of tuition in total. There are no sessions on 23 or 30 December, and the course finishes on 20 January 2027.
What you will learn and make
- Build confidence using a sewing machine and practise accurate stitching
- Prepare fabric, position patterns and cut fabric pieces
- Learn different seam types and neat seam finishes
- Develop basic garment construction and skirt-making skills
- Complete practical exercises to improve accuracy and confidence
Photos on this page show examples of student practice, construction samples and a finished skirt project. Your own project outcome will depend on your progress and chosen fabric.
Who is it for?
Adults who are beginners or want to strengthen their sewing skills. Tuition takes place in a friendly, creative studio with small-group support.
